(yawn, rubbing eyes) Is it November, yet? Well, June sure flew by! I usually celebrate The Day After The Last Saturday of June, but I had to work the 27th, too. Day of rest? I know, I know, but I hate to disappoint a bride. But, I got to sleep on Monday, so I’m ready to face the rest of July. This year I didn’t have time to write my Happy Day After The Last Saturday of June cards, so please don’t feel hurt that you didn’t get one. You’re in good company.
The morning of the 4th I was at the Fort Sutter Racing Pigeon Club€™s fireworks stand. We do an annual program and release 50 white doves (for each of the 50 states.) That was us you saw on t.v. last year. It€™s become a yearly tradition. The fireworks stand is at the corner of 49th and Folsom Boulevard. Has been for 39 years. Shoot (pleasepardonmylanguage!), telling you this beFORE the 4th would have been nice. Proceeds from sales benefit a local elementary school and City of Hope (cancer research.) So, mark your calendars for next year and come see us in the parking lot of Burr€™s (soda) Fountain.
But, the reason I put fingers to keyboard today is to direct your attention to some photos of my birds. Roy Wilcox and I have worked together on photo shoots and weddings for quite some time, but there€™s two pix of my birds on his site, www.roywilcoxphotography.com. Click on €œFashion€ and then see the first and the tenth pix. The first one ran in Sacramento Magazine, April issue, a couple three years ago. The 10th photo is of my large Palace Cage. It€™s available for your wedding day filled with doves. It stands 5′ high and is 4′ wide, white wrought iron with filigree doors. It€™s a lovely focal point in a garden setting. Oh, we have lots of other pretty things for your wedding day. Call me. But, please wait a couple hours. Right now I€™m going to have a bit of a nap. Zzzzzz€¦
