Hey, how ’bout this weather? At least you summer brides don’t have to worry about rain (knock wood). Wedding last year–it was probably about, oh, a million degrees, and as guests arrived, they were greeted by young ladies offering lemonade. I just thought that was such a class thing to do–takin’ care of your guests (yes, yes, it IS all about you, but I mean…). Be sure to get the frozen Minute Maid REAL lemonade, and make it the pink kind! No Brand X on your wedding day (by the way, the Minute Maid “lemonade” they serve at the movie show is NOT real lemonade!). And did you know Vitamin C is like coolant for your radiator? If your budget doesn’t allow for crystal, you can get some nice clear plastic glasses at Wishing Well (no styrofoam or red plastic!!). And think about how far a six oz. cup will go–get the biggest ones and use lots of ice! This is no time to skimp. On warm days, at least provide cool water. And if you are going to offer individual bottles ( I think that would be okay-you can even get them with special personalized labels), just make sure you place them in something attractive (saw a beautiful white, embossed aluminum one that looked like it was 100 years old). You could even stitch some heavy plastic into a woven basket if that’s more your style. Ask for party tubs. SAVE THE ICE CHEST FOR FISHING! Details, details, details!
