Years ago, if you had told me the passing of Ronald Reagan would bring tears to my eyes, I would never have believed you. But, here we are. Political differences aside, I admired him for more than one reason, but the greatest of them was his devotion to Nancy. I saw red with her, too, but a marriage as successful as theirs, a partnership, friendship, takes two and theirs was blockbuster. You know each had the other€™s back, 24/7. I€™d give money to build a monument to THAT any day! I had a little embroidery kit that said €œTo love and be loved is the greatest joy on earth.€ It€™s true. And being loved and loving sporadically isn€™t quite the thing, either. I have been truly blessed that for the past eight years, not one day has gone by that I haven€™t felt completely loved in spite of my flaws. What? Oh, yes. The Dove Lady has flaws. But, I digress. The partnership of Ronald and Nancy Reagan is worthy of the greatest admiration. As Judge Gunther says, €œIt€™s not only marrying the right partner, it€™s being the right partner.€ And they done good. Sweet dreams, Mr. President.
